| Conurbation The town, located in a strategic position in Friuli Venezia Giulia region, has seen, during the years, a higher and higher demographic increase due to industrial development, together with a high migratory flow, making rise new residential districts in the very near periphery. In 1968 Pordenone became chief town of a province formed by 51 municipalities. After the repair of enormous damages caused by the earthquake in 1976, it has become one of the areas having the highest concentration of industrial activities in the whole North-East region. |
